The Jazz Flower Ethos

“The Jazz Flower” was born on April 16, 2021, and is rooted in the 1960s era of jazz, and soul music. With roots reaching into the past, and flowering up to present day, selections range from: Hard Bop, to Latin Jazz, Ethiopian Jazz, Cape Jazz, Afro-Beat, Contemporary Jazz, Soul Jazz, Women In Jazz, Brazilian Jazz, Tributes, Big Band and Swing, etc. Some of our aesthetic influences include: The Wu-Tang Clan, Gang Starr, De La Soul, and A Tribe Called Quest. Our growing Studio – Record Archive includes: Shirley Scott, Milt Jackson, Horace Silver, Max Roach, Lou Donaldson, Lonnie Smith, Dizzy Gillespie, and more! The Jazz Flower represents the root of jazz in referencing jasmine flowers; promoting: healing, community, and sublime states, through jazz.
